Quality Management System (QMS)
SYNLAB has established a quality management system that is described in the Quality Manual and continues to improve its effectiveness by evaluations through an internal and external audits and quality improvement activities.
Throughout this quality manual the policies and procedures required to ensure the effective working of the laboratory are identified.
Quality management System (QMS) according to ISO standards is an organizational system that is well integrated and consolidated in the SYNLAB business structure, the primary purpose of which is to guarantee the complete satisfaction of every person who uses our services.
As the first medical laboratory in West Africa to achieve accreditation under ISO 15189, we set the pace for excellence in medical diagnostics. Our international accreditation (DAKKS) recognizes our commitment to quality, competency, and accurate test results.
SYNLAB also verifies the accuracy of patient test results by participating in recognized External Quality Assurance (EQA) and inter-laboratory comparison programmes from South Africa and Germany.
SYNLAB strives towards obtaining feedback from customers and other users of our services to ensure that the service that we deliver to customers meets their needs on all levels.
When deficiencies or opportunities for improvement are noted, the laboratory undertakes corrective or preventive actions, which are executed in the form of action plans.
Various quality indicators are in place to measure our performance throughout critical aspects of pre-examination, examination and post-examination processes. These indicators include Internal and External Quality Control performance, Turnaround Time (TAT) and Error detection and analyses. SYNLAB uses state- of- the -art equipment’s and follows a program of scheduled services and maintenance according to manufacturer’s instructions.
