Patrick is the Chief Executive Officer of SYNLAB Ghana, bringing over 18 years of extensive experience across Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Strategic Market Positioning, and Operational Excellence. He is known for driving growth, strengthening market presence, and leading high-performing teams within the healthcare and diagnostics industry.

He holds an Executive MBA in Marketing Strategy and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, complemented by certifications from INSEAD.

Before his leadership at SYNLAB Ghana, Patrick built a distinguished career across multiple African markets, including Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, and Kenya. He has held key roles in reputable multinational and regional organizations such as Sandoz, mPharma, Ernest Chemist (in partnership with Johnson & Johnson), and Shalina Healthcare. Through these roles, he has contributed significantly to business expansion, market development, and operational efficiency.

His journey is defined by visionary leadership, a passion for impact, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

 

 

Dr. Dilys John-Teye

Consultant Haematologist (External)

 

Dr. Dilys John-Teye is a Consultant Haematologist with a distinguished career spanning over ten years, marked by the seamless integration of clinical care and laboratory science. She is widely recognized for her precision, efficiency, and commitment to excellence in diagnostic haematology.

Dr. John-Teye is particularly noted for her rapid diagnostic turnaround, with specialized expertise in the interpretation and reporting of peripheral blood films and bone marrow aspirates. Her professional interests also extend strongly into Transfusion Medicine, where she is passionate about advancing safe and effective blood component therapy.

She is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and holds an MBChB from the University of Ghana Medical School.

Her work reflects a deep commitment to quality care, professional excellence, and continuous improvement in patient management.

 

Dr. (Med) Naa Okaikor Addison

Consultant Pathologist (External)

 

Dr. (Med) Naa Okaikor Addison is a highly experienced Clinical Microbiologist with over 20

years of medical practice, most of which have been dedicated to diagnostic laboratory medicine and infectious disease management.

She is a graduate of the University of Ghana Medical School (MBChB) and a Fellow of the

Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (FGCP) who additionally holds a doctorate degree (Dr. Med) from the University of Heidelberg, Germany.

Dr. Addison currently serves as a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School. In these roles, she provides expert clinical and laboratory consultation on complex infections, supports

antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention initiatives, and contributes to the training of medical students, residents, and laboratory professionals.

As a Clinical Pathologist, Dr. Addison is dedicated to improving laboratory quality systems and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and clinical relevance of diagnostic results, recognizing that

this is fundamental to improved patient outcomes.

 

 

 

Dr. Leonard Lennox Kakuunaa

Chief Operations Officer (COO)

 

Dr. Leonard Lennox Kakuunaa is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at SYNLAB Ghana.

He holds a PhD in Healthcare Management and Compliance from Atlantic International University (USA).

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Project Management from the University of Salford Business School, Manchester (UK). He also holds a certificate in Leadership and Healthcare Management from the University of Washington (USA).

He has over 20 years of management experience in Operations management leadership, Quality management, Risk management, Laboratory Compliance, Healthcare, and Project management.

He is an expert in ISO:15189 (particular requirements for quality and competence) for Diagnostics laboratories, and ISO:17025 for Testing and Calibration laboratories.

He is very passionate about process improvements and the implementation of quality systems. He is a strategist in healthcare management and a business-oriented person.

 

Stephen Folivi

Commercial Director

 

Stephen Folivi is a results-driven commercial executive with over 20 years of experience accelerating B2B and B2C growth across industries with a proven track record in market development and penetration, sales transformation, strategic partnerships, and customer-centric growth execution that drives revenue and market share expansion.

Throughout his career, Stephen has steered commercial success at organizations including Unilever, Accra Brewery, Ernest Chemists, and mPharma.

He holds an MA in Strategic Marketing from the University of Ghana and an MSc in Business Consulting and Risk Management from KNUST. Stephen is also a proud member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana.

 

Dr. (Med) John Bumekpor Komla Yabani

Clinic Medical Director

 

Is an experienced medical practitioner and public health leader with over 30 years of expertise in clinical care, health systems management, and policy implementation. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (Rostov State Medical Institute, Russia), a Master of Public Health (University of Ghana, Legon), a Postgraduate Certificate in International Public Health (University of Leeds, UK), and a Certificate in Health Administration and Management (GIMPA).

He has served as Metropolitan Director of Health Services for Accra and Tema, leading large-scale health systems and driving impactful public health programs, including HIV/AIDS control, maternal and adolescent health, and COVID-19 response. He has also held Medical Director roles in private healthcare and continues to provide consultancy services.

Dr. Yabani is a dedicated mentor and researcher, with strong contributions to health systems strengthening and public health development in Ghana.

 

Nicholas Buabeng Fenning, MBA, BSc Accounting

Finance Manager

 

Nicholas Buabeng Fenning is an experienced finance professional with over a decade of progressive experience in the health and medical laboratory industry. As Finance Manager at SYNLAB Ghana Limited, he plays a critical role in driving financial strategy, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable business growth within a dynamic multinational environment.

Nicholas has built a strong track record in financial management, budgeting, and performance analysis. His expertise lies in navigating complex economic landscapes, including managing the impact of exchange rate volatility, inflationary pressures, and evolving market conditions. He is known for his analytical approach to budgeting and forecasting, ensuring that financial plans are both realistic and aligned with organizational goals.

Nicholas holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting and Finance and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Accounting. He is highly skilled in financial reporting, management accounting, and the use of analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel to support data-driven decision-making.

 

Patience Tawiah Korankye

Human Resource Manager

 

Patience Tawiah Korankye is an HR Generalist with over a decade of experience in Human Resource Management.  She is dedicated and passionate about fostering workplace excellence through strategic people management. Her expertise covers the full spectrum of HR functions.

Patience Tawiah Korankye holds a master’s degree in human resource management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHRi) and an Associate Chartered HR Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, Ghana (CIHRM), and an Affiliate member of the Association of Certified HR practitioners. 

 

Dr. Elizabeth Gyamfi

National Laboratory Manager

 

Elizabeth Gyamfi (Ph.D) is a dedicated and experienced scientist supervising laboratory operations in Ghana. With over seven years of experience in scientific research, specializing in molecular biology and microbiology, along with four years of experience in the medical diagnostic sector. Elizabeth combines a strong scientific background with a passion for improving healthcare.

Elizabeth Gyamfi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Cape Coast, a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Ghana Medical School, and a Ph.D in Molecular Cell Biology of Infectious Disease from the University of Ghana (WACCBIP). She also holds an Executive Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Gold Coast (Accra Business School). She is also a member of the Allied Health Professional Council.

Her expertise drives efficiency and innovation in laboratory operations, contributing to excellence in medical diagnostics at SYNLAB Ghana Limited.
